Raising the visibility of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. within the State of Florida is the first critical step in growing our membership. By igniting a strong presence both internally among current members and externally in the broader community, we can attract new members who resonate with our mission and values. This can be achieved through targeted marketing campaigns, active participation in local events, and creating opportunities for members to showcase their leadership and service.

By emphasizing our fraternity’s rich history and commitment to excellence, we can draw in individuals who are passionate about making a difference, thereby increasing membership intake, reactivation and improving retention among our current brothers.

INVEST

INVEST

To grow Phi Beta Sigma’s presence and impact, we must invest in our fraternity by committing our time, talent, and treasure. This means dedicating ourselves to continuous development, both individually and collectively, to enhance our fraternity’s capacity to serve. We should focus on cultivating leadership skills, supporting educational endeavors, and providing financial resources to fund initiatives that align with our motto, “Culture for Service, Service for Humanity.” Investing in these areas will not only strengthen our fraternity but also empower us to expand our reach and deepen our impact as a community service-based organization across Florida.

By igniting our fraternity’s visibility and investing in our shared mission, the impact on the communities we serve, and our Brotherhood will be profound. As we grow our membership, we will have more hands to uplift those in need, more minds to create innovative solutions to community challenges, and more hearts committed to the cause of service. The synergy of an engaged and expanding Brotherhood will not only elevate Phi Beta Sigma’s standing in Florida but will also lead to tangible, positive changes in the lives of those we serve. This impact will reinforce our fraternity’s legacy of service, creating a ripple effect of growth and empowerment for generations to come.

strategic goals

In “Leading the Leadership” to achieve sustained growth in the state, I have set four strategic goals to help engage each chapter's leadership in developing and implementing a plan to actively grow their membership in Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. in the State of Florida:

1. Develop Chapter-Specific Recruitment Plans: Work with each alumnus and collegiate chapter to create a tailored recruitment strategy that aligns with their unique community demographics and needs. This plan should include targeted outreach to potential new members, collaborations with local organizations, and the use of social media and other platforms to highlight the fraternity's values and activities.

2. Foster Leadership Development and Mentorship Programs: Implement programs that focus on leadership development within each chapter, ensuring that all members, especially newer ones, are equipped with the skills and confidence to recruit and retain members. Additionally, establish mentorship initiatives where experienced members guide newer members in understanding and promoting the fraternity's mission.

3. Enhance Chapter Visibility and Community Engagement: Challenge each chapter to increase their visibility by participating in and organizing community events that reflect the fraternity's commitment to service. These events should be designed to attract prospective members by showcasing the fraternity’s active role in making a positive impact in the community.

4. Set Measurable Growth Targets: Establish clear, measurable and reasonable membership growth targets for each chapter, with regular check-ins and support from state-level leadership. Chapters should be encouraged to track their progress, celebrate their successes, and adjust their strategies as needed to meet their goals.
